Abstract

Pusat seni di Makassar cukup populer dan digemari oleh kalangan seniman maupun budayawan. Pusat seni di Makassar merupakan upaya yang diharapkan akan mengakomodasi proses perkembangan seni. Maka dari itu, di Kota Makassar diperlukan suatu wadah yang bertujuan untuk menjaga keberagaman serta kesinambungan nilai seni akibat globalisasi dan modernitas. Metode yang digunakan dalam Perancangan Pusat Seni di Kota Makassar, mulai dari pengumpulan data berupa event dan gedung seni, pendekatan Etnik Kontemporer, preseden, site, programing, konsep kemudian dianalisis dan menghasilkan Perancangan Public Art Center di Kota Makassar dengan Pendekatan Etnik Kontemporer.Arsitektur etnik kontemporer merupakan langgam yang digunakan dalam perencanaan suatu bangunan dengan menerapkan unsur budaya dan adat suatu daerah dengan desain yang kekinian. Pendekatan etnik kontemporer lebih menekankan pada struktur yang masa kini dengan menerapkan gaya etnis yang menggunakan material alami seperti kayu, sehingga cocok dengan bangunan pusat seni yang memiliki dekorasi yang sederhana dan luas. Konsep etnik kontemporer ini akan memberikan suasana yang sangat baru di Kota Makassar dengan mengkombinasikan struktur modern dan gaya etnis atau budaya sehingga mampu menjadi salah satu ikonik di Kota Makassar. The Art Center in Makassar is quite popular and favored by artists and cultural practitioners. It is expected that the Art Center in Makassar City be able to accommodate the process of art development. Thus, it is necessary to create a forum in Makassar City to maintain the diversity and continuity of artistic values due to globalization and modernity.This method used for designing the Art Center in Makassar City included data collection in the form of events and art buildings, the use of Contemporary Ethnic approach, precedents, sites, programs, and concepts, which were then analyzed. The result is the Design of the Public Art Center in Makassar City using the Contemporary Ethnic Approach. Contemporary Ethnic Architecture is a style used in planning a building by applying elements of the culture and customs of an area with a contemporary design. The contemporary ethnic approach takes more emphasis on contemporary structures by applying an ethnic style using natural materials, such as wood, so that the design, which has a simple and spacious decoration, matches the art center building. This contemporary ethnic concept will provide a very new atmosphere in Makassar City by combining modern and ethnic structures or cultural styles so that it can become one of the icons in Makassar City.
