Abstract

Secara historis Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta berawal dari Keraton Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat. Pada masanya, selain digunakan sebagai pusat pemerintahan, Keraton Ngayogyakarta juga digunakan sebagai pusat kebudayaan. Sampai saat ini masih tersisa peninggalan baik yang berwujud fisik maupuun non fisik. Salah satunya adalah Hotel Toegoe yang berada pada Jl Mangkubumi No. 2, bangunan tersebut merupakan saksi bisu perjuangan Indonesia dalam meraih kemerdekaan. Kondisi Hotel Toegoe saat ini terbengkalai dan sangat memprihatinkan dengan kondisi bangunannya sebagian sudah mulai melapuk dimakan waktu. Bangunan cagar budaya merupakan warisan para leluhur sehingga penting adanya untuk perkembangan sejarah, ilmu pengetahuan, dan kebudayaan. Mengembangkan Hotel Toegoe menjadi museum dengan pendekatan Adaptive Re-use merupakan metode yang paling tepat, karena latar belakang Hotel Toegoe sebagai Bangunan Cagar Budaya level nasional. Fungsi museum tentu tidak berdiri dengan sendiri, konteks lokasi yang berada pada area wisata sehingga fungsi museum tersebut akan di sandingkan dengan fungsi ruang publik. Selain itu, pengembangan Hotel Toegoe juga merupakan wujud konservasi Bangunan Cagar Budaya yang masih tersisa hingga saat ini Sehingga dalam pengembangan ini diharapkan bisa menyelamatkan dan memanfaatkan Bangunan Cagar Budaya Hotel Toegoe sehingga menjadi destinasi wisata edukatif. Historically, the Special Region of Yogyakarta originated from the Keraton Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat or Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Palace. During its golden age, apart from being used as the center of government, the Ngayogyakarta Palace was also used as a cultural center. Until now, there are various relics, both physical and non-physical. One of them is Toegoe Hotel, which is located at Mangkubumi Street Number 2. The building is a silent witness to Indonesia's struggle for independence. The condition of the Hotel is currently abandoned and very concerning with the building partially starting to rot with time. Cultural heritage buildings are the legacy of the ancestors so that they are important for the development of history, science and culture. Developing Toegoe Hotel into a museum with an Adaptive Re-use approach is the most appropriate method, because of the background of Hotel Toegoe as a National Cultural Heritage Building. Its function as a museum certainly does not stand alone, it will be juxtaposed with the function as a public space since it is situated within a tourist area. In addition, the development of Toegoe Hotel is also a form of conservation on the remaining Cultural Heritage Buildings. Therefore, this development is expected to be able to save and utilize the Toegoe Hotel Cultural Heritage Building so that it becomes an educational tourist destination.
