Abstract

This final paper is about an analysis of anger expression in metallica’s song lyrics. Anger expression is an expression intense emotional produced by human. The objectives of this final paper are to find out the anger expression in Metallica’s song lyrics, and to find out the most dominant type of anger expression in metallica’s song lyrics. The researcher analyzed each anger expression using the theory of Mack Le Mouse. This final paper is descriptive qualitative study because the data are analyzed qualitatively. The researcher used the note taking technique because all of data are taken from the song’s lyrics. After collecting the sentences that have anger expression, the researcher tried to analyz them by using Mack Le Mouse. Based on the analysis, there are two results. First, the researcher found seven types of anger expresion. They are 22 expressions of passive anger (26%), 19 expressions of verbal anger (22%), 14 expressions of judgemental anger (17%), 9 expressions of constructive anger (11%), 9 expressions of delibrate anger (11%), 6 expressions of overhelmed anger (7%), and 5 expressions of paranoid anger (6%). The most dominant types of anger expressions in Mettalica's song lyrics is passive anger (26%).
