Abstract

This study is entitled The Use of Interjection ‘Re’ in Javanese Grobogan Dialect. The objectives of this research are to find out the various function of the Interjection 're' in Javanese Grobogan dialect, and to find out the most dominant function of interjection ‘re’ in daily conversation of Grobogan Society. This study used descriptive qualitative method of the sociopragmatic approach. The data used for this study were collected from daily conversation of Grobogan society. The researcher uses theory from Alwi et al. and Ameka. The result of this study shows that there are 14 functions of interjection ‘re’. They are disgust interjection, annoyed interjection, surprise interjection, invitation interjection, rejection interjection, disappointed interjection, confusion interjection, anger interjection, gratitude interjection, shock interjection, hope willing interjection, affirmation question interjection, command interjection, and wonder interjection. The most dominant function of interjection ‘re’ is affirmation question interjection (17.5%), followed by confusion interjection (15%), surprise, invitation, rejection, disappointed, and anger interjection each of the frequency (7.5%), disgust, annoyed, gratitude, shock, and command interjection each of them (5%) and hope willing and wonder interjection (2.5%).
