Abstract
Moral is related to good and bad things for a human to change in his/her life. This research is a literary study of moral values in the movie "The Pursuit of Happyness". It aims at identifying and describing the types of moral values in the movie, by applying a descriptive qualitative method. It employed the framework of moral values as suggested by Linda and Eyre (1993). The object of this research is “The Pursuit of Happyness” movie. The findings of this research show that there are seven types of moral values found in " The Pursuit of Happyness " movie. They are honesty, courage, peace of ability, self-confidence, loyalty and dependability, respect, love, and affection. The love and affection types are dominantly used by the characters in this movie rather than the other types.
