Abstract
This research is done to study the gothic elements in Sleepy Hollow (1999). This research uses descriptive qualitative method to obtain the data. It means the writer uses library research to collect the data. She got the data from books, articles, and other printed materials as the source data. This study reveals that there are four elements in gothic literature used in Sleepy Hollow movie. Those are gothic plot, characterization, atmosphere, and setting. The gothic technique in presenting the story makes the film interesting to watch and analyze literarily. The study finds that the plot is very complicated, one of the characteristics of gothic techniques. The characterization, atmosphere, and setting are also especially gothic.
