Abstract

IMPLEMENTATION OF WEB-BASED CAR RENTAL INFORMATION SYSTEM (Case Study: 86Rentcar Yogyakarta) Kasyfurrahman Basir, Adityo Permana Wibowo, S.Kom., M.Cs. Ringroad Utara Jombor Sleman Yogyakarta E-mail: kasyfur321rahman@gmail.com, adityopw@uty.ac.id ABSTRACT The development of information technology is increasingly rapidly. Thus, technology and information become important aspects of the company as a support in operational activities. 86Rentcar, which is located in Ngaglik District, Sleman Regency, is a company engaged in the car rental business in the city of Yogyakarta. The problem that occurs is the slow process of processing data that has not been controlled due to frequent recording errors, and errors in calculating transactions and the slowness in preparing reports. The aim of the research is to find out the running system, design, and implement a car rental information system at 86rentcar Yogyakarta. The research mechanism uses primary data collection methods which are carried out by means of observation, interviews, and secondary data collection. The method used in the development of this system uses the Data Flow Diagram (DFD) method. The programming language used in this system is PHP (Pear Hypertext Preprocessor), coupled with CSS (Casading Style Sheet) to make it look more attractive. Data storage uses MySQL as a database management system, as well as JavaScript as a display support to make it more interactive. The output generated from this research is a web-based application that assists in computerized data storage thereby reducing loss of rental transaction data, this system also helps customers to make transactions more quickly, efficiently and accurately.
