Abstract

Permasalahan sampah di Indonesia merupakan masalah yang belum terselesaikan hingga saat ini, sementara itu dengan bertambahnya jumlah penduduk maka akan mengikuti pula bertambahnya volume timbunan sampah yang dihasilkan dari aktivitas manusia. Kantong plastik merupakan contoh produk yang banyak di gunakan dalam kehidupan sehari – hari masyarakat, meski dianggap praktis dan ekonomis, penggunaan plastik dapat menimbulkan limbah sampah plastik yang sangat berbahaya bagi lingkungan hidup dan komponen di dalamnya. Plastik jenis nylon adalah plastik jenis yang terbuat dari gabungan dua material yaitu nylon dan PE. Kedua gabungan jenis plastik ini membuat sebuah plastik nylon yang punya kekuatan lebih untuk beberapa hal terkait pengemasan. Keunggulan plastik nylon antara lain hampa udara, elastisitas tingi dan tahan banting. Perencanaan komposisi bahan menggunakan metode lapangan dengan eksperimen dimana komposisi kebutuhan bahan hasil uji coba dengan mengacu pada penelitian sebelumnya. Pembuatan benda uji menggunakan metode manual dengan campuran bahan yang telah ditentukan dari hasil analisis dan cetakan yang telah dimodifikasi sehingga hasil benda uji sesuai acuan SNI 03-0691 tahun 1996. Hasil pengujian kuat tekan didapat nilai maksimum paving block normal sebesar 8.90 dan paving block plastik jenis Nylon sebesar 7.30 MPa. Berdasarkan pengujian kuat tekan maka bata beton (paving block) normal yang tepat karena dalam uji kuat tekan memperoleh hasil tersebesar yaitu 8.90 MPa dibandingkan dengan paving block plastik jenis Nylon sebesar 7.30 MPa sehingga paving block dengan bahan dasar plastik jenis Nylon tidak disarankan dalam pembuatan paving block karena kuat tekan lebih rendah dari pada paving block normal. Plastic bags are examples of products that are widely used in people's daily lives, although they are considered practical and economical, the use of plastics can cause plastic waste which is very dangerous for the environment and the components in it. Nylon plastic is a type of plastic made from a combination of two materials, namely nylon and PE. The combination of these two types of plastic makes a nylon plastic that has more strength for several things related to packaging. The advantages of nylon plastic include vacuum, high elasticity and resilience. Planning the composition of materials using the field method with experiments where the composition of the material requirements of the trial results with reference to previous research. Manufacture of test objects using the manual method with a mixture of materials that have been determined from the results of the analysis and the mold that has been modified so that the results of the test objects are in accordance with the reference of SNI 03-0691 1996. The results of the compressive strength test obtained the maximum value of normal paving blocks of 8.90 and Nylon plastic paving blocks of 7.30 MPa. Based on the compressive strength test, the normal concrete paving block is correct because the compressive strength test obtained the largest result, namely 8.90 MPa compared to the Nylon plastic paving block of 7.30 MPa so that paving blocks with Nylon type plastic base material are not recommended in the manufacture of paving blocks. because the compressive strength is lower than normal paving blocks.
