Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilakukan pada gudang pipa PT Mega Andalan Komponen Logam (MAKL) yang memproduksi komponen untuk produk/fasilitas kesehatan seperti perlengkapan kamar dan furnitur rumah sakit. Gudang pipa memiliki luas 500 m² dan kapasitas penyimpanan mencapai 625 palet. Permasalahan yang terjadi pada gudang pipa adalah kurangnya area untuk menyimpan komponen jadi yang menunggu untuk dikirim. Luas area dan kapasitas palet yang dimiliki gudang pipa PT MAKL tidak mampu menampung komponen sebanyak 913 palet atau mengalami kelebihan muatan gudang sebesar 46,08%. Kurangnya area penyimpanan pipa disebabkan oleh pola penyimpanan dan penyusunan produk yang masih menggunakan kebijakan randomized storage. Permasalahan lainnya adalah adanya penempatan produk yang diletakkan pada palet tanpa memperhatikan tinggi tumpukan. Ketidakteraturan tersebut mengakibatkan pipa tidak memiliki lokasi penyimpanan yang tetap dan selalu berubah-ubah sehingga menyebabkan ketidakefektifan kerja. Metode shared storage dan dedicated storage digunakan dalam penataan ulang area penyimpanan produk pada gudang pipa sehingga didapatkan alternatif hasil rancangan perbaikan gudang agar lebih optimal. Hasil rancangan dengan metode shared storage membutuhkan 111-310 slot dengan luas gudang sebesar 430,838 m2, sedangkan metode dedicated storage membutuhkan 156 slot dengan luas area 216,81 m2. Metode shared storage menghasilkan jarak tempuh material handling per hari sebesar 368 m, sedangkan metode dedicated storage menghasilkan jarak tempuh material handling per hari sebesar 370 m. The pipe warehouse has an area of 500 m² and a storage capacity of up to 625 pallets. The problem that occurs in pipe warehouses is the lack of area to store finished components waiting to be shipped. The area and capacity of pallets owned by PT MAKL's pipe warehouse were unable to accommodate as many as 913 pallets of components or experienced warehouse overload of 46.08%. The lack of pipeline storage area is caused by storage patterns and product arrangement which still use the randomized storage policy. Another problem is the placement of products that are placed on pallets without regard to stack height. This irregularity causes the pipe to not have a fixed storage location and is always changing, causing work ineffectiveness. Shared storage and dedicated storage methods are used in rearranging product storage areas in pipe warehouses. Thus, an alternative to the results of the warehouse improvement design is obtained so that it is more optimal. The results of the design using the shared storage method require 111-310 slots with a warehouse area of 430.838 m2, while the dedicated storage method requires 156 slots with an area of 216.81 m2. The shared storage method produces a material handling mileage per day of 368 m, while the dedicated storage method produces a material handling mileage per day of 370 m.
