Abstract
The title of this study is “An Analysis of Slang Word used in Nicki Minaj Song Lyric’s in Ghetto Barbie ALbbum”. The objectives of the study are to elaborate the types of the slang language and to investigate the frequent type of the slang language found in the song.The collecting data method used in this research is qualitative methods because the writer collected the data from the song lyric script.This study was conducted by collecting some relevant data and information from books and the scientific articles that are available for the analysis. The datacollection used note taking and observation. Note taking has the following steps: reading, searching, and identifying. While the steps to analyze the data are reading,classifying, coding, analyzing, and making conclusion. To analyze, the writer usedclassifying theory of slang language that proposed by Eric Patridge.The result of this research are two. There are 43 data and based on the theory there are 18 wordswhich are cockney slang. This concludes that (42%) data are in the form of cockneyslang type. Public house slang is the second most used type. There are (30%) from13 data.The third most used types is society slang. There are (16%) 7 data are society type. The fourth most used in Ariana Grande Song is workmen’s slang. There are 7% data from 3 data are Workmen’s slang. Slang in public school and university is the last used one. There are (5%) data from 2 data found is Slang in public school and university
