Abstract

Manusia, hewan, dan tumbuhan selalu bergantung pada air untuk tumbuh dan berkembang. Jumlah air yang dibutuhkan makhluk hidup akan berbeda-beda tergantung dari ketersediaan air itu sendiri. Air merupakan sumber daya yang dibutuhkan oleh makhluk hidup baik untuk memenuhi kebutuhan hidupnya maupun untuk menopang kehidupannya secara alami. Penggunaan air yang bersifat universal atau menyeluruh dalam setiap aspek kehidupan menjadi semakin bernilai, baik dari segi kuantitas maupun kualitas. Semakin tinggi taraf hidup seseorang maka kebutuhan akan air juga akan semakin meningkat. Salah satu kebutuhan pokok manusia yang dibutuhkan secara berkelanjutan adalah air. Air bersih sangat dibutuhkan untuk konsumsi rumah tangga, kebutuhan industri dan tempat-tempat umum. Karena pentingnya kebutuhan air bersih, maka sudah sewajarnya sektor air bersih menjadi prioritas utama karena menyangkut kehidupan hidup orang banyak. Hal inilah yang membuat penulis termotivasi untuk menganalisis kebutuhan dan ketersediaan air bersih di Kecamatan Kotagede dengan proyeksi selama 10 tahun. Metode perhitungan proyeksi jumlah penduduk menggunakan metode Geometrik dengan menggunakan data jumlah penduduk dari Kecamatan Kotagede. Data jumlah penduduk yang digunakan adalah data jumlah penduduk dari tahun 2012 sampai 2021. Hasil perhitungan jumlah penduduk menggunakan metode Geometrik dengan jumlah penduduk 245.928 jiwa dengan kebutuhan air bersihnya sebesar 456,50 liter/det. Sedangkan untuk ketersediaan air bersihnya sebesar 120 liter/det. Sehingga ketersediaan air bersih masih belum mampu memenuhi kebutuhan air bersih. Oleh karena itu perlu melakukan penghematan penggunaan air bersih serta mencari sumber air baru untuk memenuhi kebutuhan air bersih yang dibutuhkan. Kata kunci: Ketersedian air, kebutuhan air, proyeksi kebutuhan air. Humans, animals, and plants have always depended on water to grow and thrive. The amount of water needed by living things will vary depending on the availability of water itself. Water is a resource needed by living things both to meet their needs and to sustain life naturally. The use of water that is universal or comprehensive in every aspect of life is becoming increasingly valuable, both in terms of quantity and quality. The higher a person's standard of living, the need for water will also increase. One of the basic human needs that is needed sustainably is water. Clean water is needed for household consumption, industrial needs, and public places. Because of the importance of the need for clean water, it is natural that the clean water sector should be a top priority because it involves the lives of many people. This is what makes the writer motivated to analyze the need and availability of clean water in Kotagede District with a projection for 10 years. The method of calculating population projections uses the Geometric method using population data from Kotagede District. The population data used is population data from 2012 to 2021. The results of the calculation of the population using the Geometric method with a population of 245,928 people with clean water needs of 456.50 liters/second. Meanwhile, the availability of clean water is 120 liters/second. So that the availability of clean water is still not able to meet the needs of clean water. Therefore, it is necessary to save on the use of clean water and find new water sources to meet the needs of clean water. Keywords: Availability of water, water demand, projected water demand.
