Abstract

ABSTRACT Information technology aims to solve problems in everyday life by applying a method that adopts technology to create, store, change and use information in all its forms. The education sector cannot be separated from the use of technology to support operational activities that produce useful information. Currently, Purworejo State High School (SMA) 8 has problems in managing academic data related to teachers, students, student grades, subjects, classes and lesson schedules. The system currently running at SMA Negeri 8 Purworejo still uses manual methods. Where academic data is stored in hardcopy form and then archived. This can cause several problems such as data loss, data accumulation, and data corruption. The aim of this research is to design an academic information system that includes data collection, scheduling, assessment and also as a solution to the problems currently existing at SMA Negeri 8 Purworejo which will later be realized in the form of a web-based information system using the Laravel framework which includes data management. students, teachers, grades, classes, subjects and scheduling. By implementing the proposed academic information system, the author really hopes that the learning process activities can run smoothly and improve the performance of academic data management at SMA Negeri 8 Purworejo.
