Abstract

Over time, fixed assets will experience depreciation due to use, the company must determine the appropriate depreciation method to use so that fixed assets are presented fairly in the financial statements. The aim of this final assignment report is to calculate and compare the straight line and declining balance methods and their impact on profits at CV appropriately, the company can generate greater profits. The results of calculating CV XYZ's fixed assets using the straight line and declining balance methods show that using the straight line method results in smaller depreciation costs. This is in line with the effect of depreciation costs on CV Depreciation has relatively decreasing depreciation costs each year.
