Abstract
This final paper discusses the main character of Sherlock Holmes who has an eccentric personality in the novel written by Arthur Conan Doyle entitled Sherlock Holmes: A Study in Scarlet. In this study, there are two objectives, namely: (1) to find out how Sherlock Holmes as a character with eccentric personality is portrayed in the novel. (2) to find out what are the good things he has implemented in his life. This research was written using a qualitative descriptive method based on objective theory and a psychological approach as the basis for answering the problem formulation. The findings show that Sherlock Holmes is portrayed as an eccentric person who likes to help people around him with his intelligence, someone who always upholds the truth and even though he has a lot of money, and lives a simple life. On the other hand, there are good things that Sherlock Holmes has implemented in his life: intelligence,carefulness, a good listener, essential thinker, and patience Tugas akhir ini membahas tentang tokoh utama Sherlock Holmes yang mempunyai kepribadian eksentrik dalam novel karya Arthur Conan Doyle yang berjudul Sherlock Holmes: A Study in Scarlet. Dalam penelitian ini terdapat dua tujuan, yaitu: (1) untuk mengetahui bagaimana Sherlock Holmes sebagai tokoh berkepribadian eksentrik digambarkan dalam novel. (2) untuk mengetahui hal-hal baik apa saja yang telah ia terapkan dalam hidupnya. Penelitian ini ditulis dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif berdasarkan teori objektif dan pendekatan psikologis sebagai landasan menjawab rumusan masalah. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa Sherlock Holmes digambarkan sebagai sosok eksentrik yang suka membantu orang disekitarnya dengan kecerdasannya, sosok yang selalu menjunjung tinggi kebenaran meskipun memiliki banyak uang, serta hidup sederhana. Di sisi lain, ada hal-hal baik yang diterapkan Sherlock Holmes dalam hidupnya: kecerdasan, kehati-hatian, pendengar yang baik, pemikir yang esensial, dan kesabaran
