Abstract
The main objective of this study was to examine the influence of corporate governance and macro economic variable consisting of inflation, exchange rate, and interest rates on the financial distress of listed companies in the Corporate Governance Perception Index (CGPI) The survey results Indonesian Institute of Corporation Governance (IICG) and SWA magazine. The samples are 137 companies in the period of 2010 through 2015. Tests performed using logistic regression models. The dependent variable is financial distress indicated by a dummy variable. If the company has a negative EPS given a score 1 and if the company has a positive EPS given a score 0. The independent variable is corporate governance was measured by CGPI index, and macroeconomic variables consisted of inflation, exchange rate and interest rate are measured using the average value per year. The results of this study showed that there was a negative relationship between corporate governance to financial distress. Meanwhile macroeconomic variables are inflation, interest rates, and exchange rates do not affect the financial distress.
