Abstract

Every state has a road map towards carbon neutral as a form of international norms regarding decarbonizing global, including Indonesia. The two strategic steps taken by Indonesia in realizing Net Zero Emissions (NZE) in 2060 are divided into two, namely independent national efforts and international support. Foreign support is defined as one of the country's acceleration schemes in achieving NZE. Multilateralism schemes, G20, have become an important momentum for Indonesia to deliver their interest in new and renewable energy, unfortunately the government always applies conditional joint targets for any cooperation in the energy sector. This study aims to analyze of Indonesia's challenges and obstacles in achieving the NZE from cooperation of multilateralism perspectives. This research utilized the theory of constructivism in international regime and domestic politics and qualitative analysis methods. The results revealed that a policy that inward and outward looking is needed so that it is expected to receive support not only in terms of morale, but also in terms of technology transfer, low cost financing, and capacity building. Keywords: Energy Transition, Decarbonizing Global, Indonesia, G20, Net Zero Emissions.
