Abstract

This study focuses on the process of character-building teaching. To be exact on the teaching process of character building, precisely on the teaching of positive values of friendship among students within the lessons of English subject. The animated movie was used in this research as means to teach the students. This study is aimed to describe English teaching strategy with character building content. The animated movie was chosen as a teaching medium since everyone enjoys watching movies. We get not only entertainment but also lessons from watching movies because each one has a different theme and storyline, such as family, friendship or friendship, the journey of life, and much more. As a teacher, the messages in this movie can be used as reference material to teach students. This study was conducted to demonstrate about the importance of friendship value, how the role of values or moral messages in a movie can be shown or taught to students. Ralph Breaks the Internet movie has very unique friendship story and it is also meaningful. This movie teaches the value of the role of a friend, who must always support his/her friends.
