Abstract

ABSTRACT Determining the concentration of major in informatics is one of the determining factors for informatics students as a requirement for entering semester 5. Informatics students who have just entered semester 5 often experience difficulties in the process of determining major concentration. Many of them choose majors that do not suit their abilities and interests. A decision support system is generally defined as a system that is capable of producing solutions and handling problems. Decision support systems are not intended to replace the role of decision makers, but to help and support decision makers. One method that is often used in decision support systems is the Fuzzy Tsukamoto method. This method was chosen because it has several advantages compared to traditional systems. Another advantage is that the fuzzy system has reasoning abilities that are similar to human reasoning abilities. This is because the fuzzy system has the ability to provide responses based on information that is qualitative, inaccurate and ambiguous. In this case, the alternative in question is determining the major concentration of informatics students using the Fuzzy Tsumakoto method. With this method, it is hoped that it can help informatics students determine their major concentration more precisely because it is based on predetermined criteria values so that they will get maximum results. The results of this research will produce a system for determining major concentrations that can provide convenience or as an alternative in selecting majors in semester 5 for informatics students at Yogyakarta University of Technology.
