Abstract
ABSTRACT Attendance is a measure of employee discipline level at work. Many of the attendance processes in a company or agency are still manual, namely in the form of attendance sheets that are distributed to employees to sign as proof of work attendance. This system still has the risk of fraud committed by employees in taking attendance. The subject of this research is how to create a mobile-based attendance application by utilizing Geography Positioning System (GPS) technology to detect employee locations when taking attendance. The application development steps begin with collecting the required data, then successively analyzing the structure of the mobile-based attendance system, creating a design plan, programming (coding) and system testing. The results of this research are in the form of output which produces software that can carry out online attendance via an Android-based smartphone. The ability of this system can track employee locations to be able to carry out attendance with a specified minimum distance. From the results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that the attendance system can produce maximum output in the attendance process. Keywords: Attendance, GPS, Employees
