Abstract

ABSTRACT Attendance data is something that is very important for a company and institution. Absence data will be used for the purposes of paying salaries, bonuses and performance reports from the workforce. Currently, many institutions use mobile attendance applications to process employee attendance data, but these applications can be used anywhere, making it possible for fraudulent attendance taking by employees to occur. For example, a teacher can take attendance from home, even though the teacher is absent from work or is late. This gave rise to the idea for the author to create a mobile attendance application based on location coordinate mapping, so that attendance can only be taken at predetermined locations. The design methodology for this application uses the prototyping method. Based on the results of the research and discussions that the author has conducted, it can be concluded that having a mobile attendance application based on location coordinate mapping can make it easier to manage teacher absences and can prevent fraud in taking attendance by teachers.
