Abstract

ABSTRACT The Special Region of Yogyakarta or better known as the city of Yogyakarta is located in the southern part of the island of Java, bordering the province of Central Java. Yogyakarta is a city that has many tourist attractions that leave history or other tourist attractions of various types such as beach, mountain, natural tourism and many more. However, the lack of tourist information in Jogja, such as natural tourist attractions and caves, will cause these tourist attractions to be less visited and the number of visits to these tourist attractions will be uneven. This is because it is difficult for tourists to find tourist information in Jogja. The solution that can be taken from this problem is to create an Android-based tourist information system application in Yogyakarta by collecting data from the internet and entering it into a database to make it easier to convey tourist information. In this application, data exchange between server and client uses web service technology and Google Map API technology as a medium for displaying map locations. The result of this application is that it can convey complete tourist information in Yogyakarta using a web service, so that tourists who want to travel to these tourist attractions can get complete tourist attraction information using this application
