Abstract

ABSTRACT This research introduces an Android-based tourism search application that utilizes location-based services (LBS) via the Google Maps API. North Sulawesi is known as a highly sought after tourist destination, attracting a large number of visitors from both within and outside the country. The main aim of this application is to provide accurate and reliable information regarding various destinations and events in North Sulawesi Province. Application development to access information on tourist attractions and events in North Sulawesi Province was carried out using the Java-based Android programming language and using the Location based service (LBS) method. Tourists visiting North Sulawesi have difficulty accessing information spread across various platforms. This application provides a collection of hotels, culinary delights, places of worship, tourist attractions, tourist events, and information about these destinations and events related to tourism, as well as tourist itineraries that are well integrated with Google Maps. The results of the research are an application for searching for tourist attractions in North Sulawesi with the final conclusion obtained, namely that this application can help users find more detailed information regarding tourist attractions in North Sulawesi. Such as finding a description of the place you need, the location of the tour, the facilities available on the tour and also being able to determine and plan the costs required when visiting the tour.
