Abstract
ABSTRACT The recorded rice harvest in total rice production during 2021 was around 54.42 million tons of GKG, or a decrease of 233.91 thousand tons (0.43 percent) compared to 2020. This was caused by several things such as rat pest attacks and lack of management of water sources for rice which caused dry rice. A solution was created that can monitor the performance of rice fields through an application that is integrated with Internet of Things tools. The aim is to create a tool so that it can help the work of farmers, both young and old farmers, in monitoring water levels, soil moisture, irrigation and rat pests. The method used is the black box method. Where soil moisture data is used as a reference for watering plants according to the age of the rice. The result of the tool is that the system can be controlled via a smartphone, starting from checking the soil moisture level, making a reference table for each soil moisture value according to the age of the rice, being able to turn on the pump, knowing the height of the irrigation, and repelling rodent pests automatically with a sensor and speaker Keywords: Internet of Things, Android, Kotlin, Serial Communication, ESP8266, Arduino Uno R3, Monitoring System
