Abstract

ABSTRACT Attendance in the educational environment plays an important role and attendance is a crucial factor in supporting activities in the institution. At MAN 2 Sleman, teachers still record attendance manually using attendance books, which makes it difficult for those who have family responsibilities, causes difficulties in distributing time, and hinders efficiency in recording, searching and calculating attendance data which ultimately takes time. valuable. Therefore, the aim of this research is to design and build an Android application that utilizes QR Code technology to simplify the process of recording teacher attendance at the institution. This research process involves gathering information through observation, interview interactions, and analysis of relevant literature. Software development was carried out using the Kotlin programming language for Android applications. Meanwhile, the web service API was built using the PHP programming language, and for the Database Management System (DBMS) MySQL was used. The result of this research is a teacher attendance application that uses QR Code. This application is expected to speed up the process of recording teacher attendance at MAN 2 Sleman, increase the accuracy and speed of recording attendance, and reduce the possibility of errors in managing attendance data. With this attendance application system, it is hoped that it can provide great benefits in increasing efficiency and accuracy in recording attendance teacher at the institution.
