Abstract

The technology that is currently developing is the Internet of Things (IOT). The use of the Internet of Things as a medium for Aquariums provides a new perspective on current aquarium enthusiasts and the function of practicality and sophistication in the development of today's aquariums. IoT is a technology that combines wireless technology (internet network) and objects (sensors) with a circuit board called Arduino. This research provides an overview and ideas from the results of a literature review regarding the development of monitoring and controller systems, especially the use of IoT as a tool to help control fish feeding. Application of IoT as a tool to help control and monitor feeding of fish in the aquarium. In Indonesia, the use of IoT media is still not widely implemented. There is a need to develop this IoT media in ornamental fish cultivation. An aquarium is a vivarium, usually placed in a place with transparent sides (made of glass or high-strength plastic), in which aquatic animals and plants (usually fish, but can also be found invertebrates, amphibians, marine mammals and reptiles) are accommodated, and used for public display. Aquarium comes from the Latin word Aqua which means "water" and the suffix-arium which means "a place connected to". Keeping fish in aquariums is quite a popular hobby. The first giant aquarium for the public, was established at the London Zoo, England in 1853. As time goes by, the technology used in aquariums continues to develop (such as filtering and lighting systems). Keywords: Aquarium, Internet of Things
