Abstract

ABSTRACT Yogyakarta is a tourist destination city that has a variety of exotic tourist attractions that are of interest to many tourists. However, because there are many tourist destinations outside the city center, tourists often don't know about their existence. Designing an Android-based tourist search application is an alternative that can provide references and knowledge to tourists. This research aims to overcome the problem of searching and accessibility of tourist information in Yogyakarta through the development of an innovative mobile-based system. The main problem faced is the lack of quick and accurate accessibility of tourist information, as well as the lack of services that utilize location technology. The proposed solution is the development of a mobile-based tourist search system that utilizes location technology to provide precise and accurate information based on the user's location. This system will provide search features based on category, distance and user preferences to ensure optimal user experience. System development methods include analyzing user needs, designing intuitive user interfaces, developing efficient backend systems, and thorough testing to ensure system reliability and performance. The result of this research is an innovative system that allows users to easily find and access tourist information in Yogyakarta via their mobile devices. This system can improve tourist experiences, promote local tourist destinations, and support the growth of the tourism industry in Yogyakarta as a whole.
