Abstract
ABSTRACT This research focuses on developing a recommendation system for selecting tour guides and tourist attractions using machine learning techniques. This system uses two different recommendation methods, namely demographic filtering and content-based filtering. The demographic filtering method recommends tour guides based on their category data, using a model with three stages, namely filtering, rating and sorting. The rating stage uses the Simple Additive Weighting method to assign weight to each criterion in the tour guide data. The content-based filtering method provides recommendations for tourist attractions based on metadata similarities using a model with two stages: training and recommendation. The training stage uses tf-idf weighting, while the recommendation stage uses cosine similarity. By combining these methods, the recommendation system provides personalized results by focusing on tour guide data and user-selected tourist spot data. The result of this research is an Android-based mobile application with a personalized tour guide and tourist spot recommendation system to meet tourists' needs.
