Abstract

ABSTRACT SMP Ma’arif Kalibawang, located in Kulonprogo, has 240 students divided into 9 classes. Currently, the student attendance system is manual, using Microsoft Excel and printed attendance sheets, which are prone to manipulation. Students sign the attendance sheets, which are then recorded by the class teacher into Excel. To address this issue, a mobile-based attendance system is needed to manage and store attendance data more securely and reduce manipulation. This system is developed using Android Studio with the Kotlin programming language and Retrofit, a library for managing data connections from the app to the internet. It is expected that this mobile-based attendance system will facilitate the attendance process and data management, as well as improve accuracy in attendance reporting at SMP Ma’arif Kalibawang.
