Abstract

DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF WEB-BASED LIBRARY INFORMATION SYSTEM (Case Study: SMK YPKK 1 Sleman, Ambarketawang, Gamping, Sleman, DIY) Ryandi P. Pardede Information Systems Study Program, Faculty of Science & Technology University of Technology Yogyakarta Jl. Ringroad Utara Jombor Sleman Yogyakarta Email: ryandi.pardede5@gmail.com ABSTRACT A library is an institution that contains a collection of printed and recorded knowledge, managing it in a special way to meet the intellectual needs of its users through various ways of knowledge interaction. Libraries have been spread throughout the world since long ago, and are the key to gaining new knowledge for all ages, especially at SMK YPKK 1 Sleman. This vocational school is a private school in Sleman, Yogyakarta. The service in the library is fine, only the service is still manual. This can be difficult in storing visitor data, book data, and other large amounts of data. Therefore, an adequate library information system is needed, to process book searches automatically and produce fast and accurate information. In developing the information system at the SMK YPKK 1 Sleman Library, the Web, PHPmyadmin, PHP native and MySQL methods are used. So that it can help the recording process with automation of borrowing, returning, requesting, borrowing and helping to speed up the book search process for library members.
