Abstract

Waste is a problem that occurs in almost all regions. Environmental pollution occurs if waste is not handled properly. In the Kauman area, Yogyakarta City, there is a Waste Bank program. The Waste Bank program aims to manage waste through collection, sorting, and processing of waste into products that can generate economic benefits. The Kauman Waste Bank program is one that still uses traditional methods in recording waste data, customers, waste deposits and balance withdrawals. The use of a system that still uses books for recording in waste bank management has many shortcomings and can be a problem. The problem is the loss and damage of historical data on deposit and balance withdrawal transactions. In addition, customer savings books are also susceptible to damage or loss, so a computerized system is needed that can help customers access savings online and help waste bank managers manage waste banks. This study aims to design and build a web-based waste bank management information system to help Kauman waste bank managers and the community as customers access their savings. The study was conducted using the waterfall method by collecting data through interviews and observations at the Kauman Waste Bank office. The results of this study indicate that the website that was built can help admins manage waste data, customer transaction data and savings. For customers, this system has the benefit of viewing savings online through the system.
