Abstract
This study concerns about tai tontai, and nantai particles. The writers is interested in the particles, because of the uniqueness of the particles that always used and appear in everyday life of Dayak Tomun in Kudangan. The main purpose of this research is to know the patterns and function of tai, tontai, and nantai in Dayak Tomun language. This research has two objectives. The first one is to find the patterns of the language. The second is to find out the functions of the particles. The method of research in this study is qualitative research. The data were gathered from the conversation that always used by Dayak Tomun in Kudangan. The object of this research is tai, tontai, and nantai particles. The data of this research are in the form of conversation in Dayak Tomun language. The result of this research shows that the use of WH-, pronouns, content noun, and noun are always acceptable before or after the particles. Last, the functions of the particles in Dayak Tomun language are to ask and tell information of the activity in a different time. Keywords: particles, Dayak Tomun, Kudangan, language
