Abstract
This study is conducted to analyze the revenge in The Dressmaker film. There are three problems analyze in this study: (1) The reason of Tilly Dunnage’s revenge, the main character of the film; (2) the way Tilly commits revenge; (3) the result of Tilly’s revenge. The writer uses Skinner’s behaviorism theory to analyze the behavior of Tilly as an avenger and to analyze the revenge itself. The data were analyzed by using descriptive qualitative method which focuses on the analysis of textual data. The data were collected by reading the script of the fil repeatedly, watching the fil, reading some references related to the theory and the film, taking note of important data, arranging the data, classifying the important data, and drawing the conclusion. The analysis of this research results in some findings. The writer finds the reason of Tilly’s revenge is a response to the bad treatment such as accused, bullying, trauma, underestimated from her environment also the effect of loosing her beloved people. The way Tilly commits her revenge is an elegant way where she uses smart trics to bring people down; those trics are affecting someone mind, controlling, killing with kindness and showing off her ability. The result of the revenge is satisfaction with no remorse. Key words: Dress maker, film, revenge, trauma, Tilly Dunnage, Behaviorism Theory.
