Abstract

IMPLEMENTATION OF INFORMATION SYSTEM OF A WEB-BASED NEW STUDENT ADMISSION (Case Study: SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Yogyakarta) Akmal Nashirudin, Moh. Ringroad Utara Jombor Sleman Yogyakarta E-mail: akmalnashirudin05@gmail.com, ali.romli@uty.ac.id ABSTRACT New student admissions are a key activity conducted by educational institutions, aimed at filtering prospective students according to predetermined criteria. Currently, the new student admission process is still performed conventionally. Prospective students must visit the school to collect registration forms, submit documents, and check the selection results. The purpose of this study is to develop a web-based new student admission information system that facilitates online registration for prospective students and allows them to monitor the status of their applications. This system also aids the school in managing data quickly and efficiently. The research stages include data collection (interviews, observations, and literature studies), requirements analysis, coding, testing, and implementation. The results indicate that the web-based new student admission information system simplifies the registration process for prospective students and enables them to monitor their application status online. Additionally, this system allows for more rapid and efficient data management of prospective students compared to previous systems. Testing using the black box method ensures that all designed features function effectively, including online registration, data verification, testing, and announcement of selection results.
