Abstract

WEB-BASED NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION INFORMATION SYSTEM AT SMKN 1 BENGKULU SELATAN Rizky Anjas Pratama, Adityo Permana Wibowo Information Systems Study Program, Faculty of Science & Technology Universitas Teknologi Yogyakarta Jl. Ringroad Utara, Jombor, Sleman, Yogyakarta E-mail: rizkyanjas23@gmail.com, adityopw@staff.uty.ac.id ABSTRACT The system used by SMKN 1 Bengkulu Selatan for the new student admission process still relies on manual forms. These forms serve as a reference for student registration to continue their studies at SMKN 1 Bengkulu Selatan. The use of manual forms poses significant challenges in the student admission process, as it requires a long time to process due to the need for individual data entry for each student. This creates a risk of data entry errors, which can lead to inefficiencies in terms of time and effort, and may result in lost or misplaced documents. To address these issues, a web-based new student admission information system will be developed to minimize errors in managing student admission data. The design of this research involved data collection through observation and interviews. The system uses a MySQL database for data storage and management. It has been implemented and tested using black-box testing to ensure functionality. The final result of this research is a system that facilitates data management, such as registration data, selection score data, and re-registration data, thereby resolving issues in the registration process by providing a better service system for prospective students.
