Abstract
DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF A WEB-BASED NEW STUDENT ADMISSION INFORMATION SYSTEM AT SMP MUHAMMADIYAH 2 JATINOM Alvin Adam Hafidzy, Ahmad Tri Hidayat Information Systems Study Program, Faculty of Science and Technology Universitas Teknologi Yogyakarta Jl. Ringroad Utara, Jombor, Sleman, Yogyakarta E-mail: alvinadam0898@gmail.com, ahmad.tri.h@uty.ac.id ABSTRACT This research aims to find solutions to facilitate the registration process for new students and to improve the efficiency and accuracy of data processing until the prospective students are accepted. By analyzing the existing system and evaluating the desired system requirements, a design for a new student admission information system has been developed that effectively integrates data and reduces the risk of data loss or damage. The results of this study present an overview of the proposed system, designed to assist prospective students in the registration process and support the school in managing new student admissions. The design and development of the system also include a flow of the new system to be developed and the database design to store prospective student data. The system is web-based, utilizing PHP, HTML, CSS, and the Laravel framework, with MySQL employed for database management. In this research, the system's feasibility and suitability were assessed using the Black Box testing method, which involved creating test scenarios in accordance with the registration flow through to the acceptance of prospective students. This study concludes that the system is suitable for implementation at SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Jatinom, thereby aiding the registration and management of new student data in line with the designed system flow.
