IMPLEMENTATION OF A STUDENT ATTENDANCE SYSTEM BASED ON A WEBSITE AT SMP N 2 MLATI (Case Study: SMP Negeri 2 Mlati) Irnada Trifena Palatang Manggau, Suyud Widiono, S.Pd., M.Kom. Information Systems Study Program, Faculty of Science and Technology Universitas Teknologi Yogyakarta Jl. Ringroad Utara, Jombor, Sleman, Yogyakarta E-Mail: nadapm259@gmail.com, suyud.w@uty.ac.id ABSTRACT SMP N 2 Mlati, located at Jl. Perkutut, Sinduadi, Mlati, Sleman Yogyakarta, has been established since 1979 and is currently implementing the 2013 curriculum under the leadership of Principal Isnan Abdi. Despite being accredited with an A rating and a score of 97/100, the school still employs a manual method for student attendance processes. This method involves calling students' names individually by the teacher at the beginning of each lesson and collecting attendance sheets by administrative staff, while the guidance counseling teacher collects the attendance sheets for subsequent subjects. This manual process not only consumes more time but also requires storage space for paper archives, resulting in less efficient processing of attendance data, especially at the end of the semester. Based on these issues, an analysis and observation were conducted to design a Web-Based Student Attendance Information System. The purpose of this web-based attendance system is to simplify the attendance process for subject teachers and students, and to facilitate the recap of attendance by the guidance counseling teacher more efficiently.
