Abstract
The purpose of this research is to analyze cases of racism experienced by Bryan Stevenson and Jhonny D in the film Just Mercy and their resistance to racism. This research utilizes James Scott's theory of resistance and a mimetic approach. This study is qualitative research. In collecting data, the author uses library research methods. Primary data is collected from the film Just Mercy. Secondary data is collected from books, journals, and articles. The data collection technique involves watching films and taking notes. The analysis of this research yields several results. The findings show that Bryan Stevenson and Jhonny D experience racism, and Bryan Stevenson fight against racism. They face racism because they are black people who, at this time, are often oppressed by the justice system.
