Abstract
DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF A WEB-BASED MONITORING SYSTEM FOR STUDENT LEARNING ACTIVITIES (Case Study: SMK Dirgantara Putra Bangsa) Puja Lestari, Suhirman, S.Kom., M.Kom., Ph.D. Information Systems Study Program, Faculty of Science and Technology Universitas Teknologi Yogyakarta Jl. Ringroad Utara Jombor Sleman Yogyakarta E-mail: lestaripuja14@gmail.com, suhirman@uty.ac.id ABSTRACT The busy schedules of parents often hinder them from monitoring their children's learning activities at school. Therefore, a web-based monitoring system for student learning activities has been developed. This research aims to build a system that enables parents to effectively monitor their children. The system is designed to facilitate the management and monitoring of teaching and learning activities, including student attendance and teacher activities in a more integrated manner. Student attendance is a crucial aspect of educational monitoring, but parents' busyness often poses a barrier. The results of the study indicate that the developed system can provide key features such as recording student attendance and learning activities. This system grants access to administrators, class advisors, subject teachers, and parents, with different access rights according to their respective roles. Administrators can manage all data, including student and teacher information; class advisors can monitor their respective classes; and subject teachers can input attendance and learning activities for each subject taught. Parents can monitor their child's development through this system, including viewing attendance and learning activities. This system enhances parental involvement and oversight in the educational process, thereby improving the quality of student education.
