Abstract
This research aims to find and analyze slang and its types found in novels as the main data. In this research, the author discusses two problems: 1) What types of slang are found in the novel entitled Genk Brodol? and 2) What is the most dominant slang in the novel? Using qualitative methods, the author explains the slang used in the novel. Based on Allan & Burridge's theory as a reference in analyzing data, there are five types of slang, namely Acronym, Clipping, Flippant, Fresh & Creative, and Imitative. As a result, the author found 23 pieces of data. The author found 4 Acronym type data, 11 Clipping type data, 2 Flippant data, 2 Fresh & Creative data, and 4 Imitative type data, with the Clipping type being the most dominant and the word Thanks as the most dominant slang.
