Abstract
This study aimed to analyzed slang words of the song lyrics of Eminem on “Music To be Murdered” as the main data of the research. In this study, the writer discusses two problems; 1) What kinds of slang does Eminem utilize in the lyrics of the song? And 2) what is the most dominant types of slang in the lyrics of the song? By using a qualitative descriptive method, the writer provides a detail description of slang words in selected Eminem song on “Music To be Murdered” album. How to collect the data in this research is by note taking and observing. The result of this research is there are five types of slang found in selected Eminem song lyrics on “Music To be Murdered” album. There are blending (12 or 18%), coinage (5 or 8%), clipping (45 or 68%), derivation (3 or 5%), and compounding (1 or 1%). The most dominant types of slang in selected Eminem song lyrics on “Music To be Murdered” album is clipping
