Abstract
This research aims to study what the types of meaning switches occur and what the factors can influence the occurrence of meaning switches. The researcher used a song by K-pop group called Itzy with the tittle Wannabe. This research is qualitative research. In obtaining the data, the researcher used a syntax theory by Mirizon and Hambali. The researcher used the theory to categorize the song stanzas into sentences, clauses, phrases, and words. By using this theory, the researcher found 36 pairs of meaning switch data from the Korean version and the English version. From the 36 pairs of data, only 3 pairs of the data did not switch the meaning. The factor that influences the meaning switch are also a syntactic, because there is differences between the basic sentence patterns of Korean and the basic sentence patterns of English.
