Abstract
This study aims to explore the journey of individuation undertaken by Enola Holmes after the loss of her mother, a central theme in the novel The Case of the Missing Marquess by Nancy Springer. This study identifies two main focuses: a) The stages of individuation experienced by Enola Holmes in the novel “The Case of the Missing Marquess” and b) How these stages of individuation help Enola Holmes find her self-meaning. This study employs two main theories: Objective Theory to understand Enola’s actions and attitudes as depicted in the novel, and Carl Gustav Jung’s Individuation Theory to analyze Enola’s individuation process. This research is qualitative descriptive, with the novel The Case of the Missing Marquess as the primary data source. The findings show that Enola Holmes goes through six stages of individuation in her search for self-meaning: a) Undifferentiated Whole, b) Inflation, c) Alienation, d) The Collective Man, e) Integration, and f) Individuation. By applying Individuation Theory and analyzing Enola’s behaviors and actions in the novel, these six stages are identified and analyzed to provide a deeper understanding of Enola’s journey in finding her self meaning
