Abstract
This study entitled “A Study of Denotative and Connotative Meanings in Jung Kook’s Song Lyrics” is aimed to find out the denotative and connotative meanings in the songs. This study is qualitative descriptive. The reason for using qualitative descriptive is that because it is suitable to explain the detail descriptively in this study. Data source is taken from eight out of eleven song lyrics in the album GOLDEN by Jung Kook. The data were collected by listening the songs, copying the song lyrics from the internet, analyzing the lyrics to identify the denotative and connotative meaning, and classifying the lyrics to draw detailed conclusions about denotative and connotative meaning in the lyrics. The result of this study shows that there are some differences in the meaning of the song lyrics.
