Abstract
This study explores the variance of swear words used in the world of movies, taking Fast and Furious 9 as the chosen title. Known as an action, comedy, and criminal movie at the same time, the writer chose this movie for the perfect objective for analyzing swear words. This study aims to find a few types of swear words in the whole dialogue in the movie. After identifying them the writer categorizes the expression of swear words according to their own type based on Andersson Trudgill theory. Through qualitative descriptive methods, the data collected from the movie reveals a total of 32 instances of swear words, categorized into four types. Among these, there are 5 expletives, 7 abusive swear words, 14 humorous swear words, and 6 auxiliary swear words. The analysis indicates that humorous swear words are the most dominant, appearing 14 times throughout the dialogue.
