Abstract

ABSTRACT This study examines the design and construction of a prototype hybrid system that integrates Solar Power Plants (PLTS) and Microhydro Power Plants (PLTMH) to support the operation of water pumps for rice field irrigation. This system aims to provide a sustainable and environmentally friendly energy solution for agricultural applications. The research encompasses the design, fabrication, and testing of prototypes, including PLTS, PLTMH, inverters, and ultrasonic sensors, which are employed to control water levels automatically. The test results indicate that this hybrid system can generate sufficient power to operate a water pump, with ultrasonic sensors effectively detecting water levels to regulate pump operation. A 12V/9AH battery stores energy from both sources, ensuring a sustainable energy supply. This system not only enhances the efficiency of rice field irrigation but also offers environmental benefits by harnessing renewable energy sources. Keywords: PLTS, PLTMH, Water Pump
