Abstract

In today’s digital era, the coffee shop industry faces the challenge of adapting to the ever-evolving needs of customers. This study aims to develop an effective table reservation system for coffee shops that not only enhances customer experience but also improves operational efficiency. The system is designed with specific user needs in mind, including ease of access, an intuitive interface, and integration with digital payment platforms. The development methodology employs an Agile approach, allowing for rapid adjustments based on user feedback. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of this reservation system can reduce customer waiting times, increase satisfaction, and optimize resource management within coffee shops. These findings are expected to contribute significantly to coffee shop entrepreneurs’ creation of a better customer experience and enhancement of their business competitiveness. Independent research by Toffin shows that the number of coffee shops in Indonesia has nearly tripled, increasing from 1,000 outlets in 2016 to over 2,950 outlets by August 2019, with a market value reaching IDR 4.8 trillion. This growth reflects the rising demand from both customers and coffee shop business operations. Additionally, this study aims to develop an online ordering application that supports table reservations, further designed to improve customer experience and operational efficiency. This application employs an Agile system development approach characterized by its enhanced flexibility and iteration, in contrast to conventional methodologies such as the SDLC Waterfall method. This approach enables the application to exhibit greater adaptability to evolving requirements. By providing innovative digital solutions, this application not only supports coffee shop operations but also contributes to the digital transformation of the industry. The application is expected to encourage business growth, strengthen competitiveness, and create an increasingly competitive and rapidly growing coffee shop ecosystem in Indonesia. Keywords: Mobile Computing Technology, Online Ordering Application, Coffee Shop, Room Reservation System, Application Development.
