Abstract

ABSTRACT Conventional home security systems have several limitations, particularly when addressing modern threats. This study aims to develop an Internet of Things (IoT)-based smart door lock system utilizing the ESP8266 module, integrated with the RFID RC522 and the Blynk application, to enhance home security. This system enables users to control door access in real-time via their smartphones and employs RFID card-based authentication, ensuring that only registered cards can unlock the door. Testing indicates that the system responds to RFID authentication in under 2 seconds, maintains a stable Wi-Fi connection within a 15-meter radius, and is user-friendly through the Blynk application. Furthermore, the door status notification feature enhances security by allowing users to monitor door access anytime and anywhere. With these results, the developed smart door lock system presents a reliable and innovative solution for improving household security. Keywords: IoT, Smart Door Lock, ESP8266, RFID RC522, Blynk.
