Abstract

The employee attendance system is a crucial component of human resource management. This study aims to design and develop an employee attendance system that utilizes facial recognition technology and GPS, accessible via web and mobile platforms. The system is intended to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of the attendance process while minimizing the fraud typically associated with manual methods. System testing is conducted through facial recognition accuracy testing and functionality testing using the BlackBox Testing method. The outcomes demonstrate that the system can attain up to 96.4% accuracy under typical lighting conditions, though performance declines in low-light environments. Furthermore, the functionality of essential features, including leave verification, report printing, and logout processes, has been validated, yielding successful outcomes. However, the system exhibits limitations, particularly in the accuracy of facial recognition under dim lighting and the implementation of imperfect administrative features. To enhance the system’s functionality, it is recommended that future development efforts focus on refining the facial recognition algorithm and integrating more comprehensive administrative features.
