Abstract

The lack of accurate and easily accessible information regarding mountain climbing routes, coupled with insufficient education on physical and mental preparation for climbers, can significantly increase the risk of accidents during outdoor activities. Central Java, home to several popular mountains such as Mount Andong, Mount Prau, and Mount Merbabu, is frequently chosen as a climbing destination by experienced and novice climbers. Without a comprehensive platform that offers detailed information and reliable climbing guides, climbers may encounter challenges in their preparation and navigation, potentially resulting in fatal accidents. This study aims to develop an Android-based application that provides a climbing route map, offers information about the destination mountains, and includes a chatbot feature to assist climbers. The development of this application follows the Waterfall model, which encompasses several stages: needs analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. Test results indicate that the application accurately displays climbing routes and details about the mountains, and the chatbot feature effectively responds to user commands and inquiries.
