Abstract

Digital bookstore management has become an essential need to enhance operational efficiency and service quality, especially amid the rapid advancement of digital technology. This study aims to develop an Android-based mobile application to manage book inventory and sales transactions, featuring barcode scanning capabilities powered by Google ML Kit. A key advantage of the application is its ability to scan barcodes in real time, significantly accelerating inventory input and enabling automatic book identification without the need for time-consuming manual entry. The system was developed using Android Studio and Kotlin programming language, integrated with a MySQL database to manage inventory and transaction records. The application also includes real-time sales report features accessible to store administrators. Testing results indicate that the application improves accuracy and efficiency in stock management and transaction logging. With this application, bookstore owners are expected to optimize store operations, reduce input errors, and deliver faster and more precise services to customers.
